On Famoka you earn when the content you make brings a brand a signup, a sale or a piece of work it asked for. This lesson is the money side: what pays, what counts as yours, and how a sale becomes money in your bank.
The ways you earn
- Commission on sales. A brand pays a share of each sale, or a set amount, when someone buys through your link or with your code. The reward on a brand's page is yours: what you see is what you earn on each sale it counts.
- Recurring rewards. Most software is paid for every month or every year, so most software brands pay a share of every payment a customer makes, for some months or for as long as they pay. A new programme for a subscription starts at 20% of every payment for 12 months; each brand can change that.
- Leads. Some brands pay for a signup or a trial, once per customer, whether or not they pay later.
- Paid briefs, bounties and retainers. A brand pays a set fee for each piece of work it approves, a bonus when your posts reach a goal, or a monthly amount for regular work. The lesson on paid briefs covers them.
What counts as yours
- A code beats a click. If someone uses your code at checkout, the sale is yours, whatever they clicked before.
- Otherwise the last click wins, as long as it was within the brand's cookie window: 30 days unless the brand sets another.
- A signup leads to a payment. When you bring a signup or a trial, the customer's first payment within 90 days counts for you.
- Renewals stay with you. A subscription's later payments stay with the creator credited with its first payment, at the reward that applied then, whatever link the customer clicks later.
From pending to paid
- Pending. The brand has its approval window to approve or decline each sale, from 7 to 90 days and 30 unless it says otherwise. A decline always carries a reason. A sale still unanswered when the window ends is approved.
- Held. Approved earnings are held for 14 days.
- Available. Money becomes available once the brand has paid for it. We never pay out money a brand hasn't paid us, so a brand that pays late delays its own creators, not anyone else's.
- Paid. We pay out 2 times a month once your available balance reaches 20 in your payout currency, to a bank account in any of the 34 countries we pay. We charge creators nothing.
What can change, and what can't
- A brand can raise its rewards at any time, and that applies at once. A cut reaches you 30 days after the brand makes it, and customers you'd already brought keep earning at the rules you brought them under.
- When a programme ends, recurring rewards on the customers you brought stop 30 days later.
- A refund or a lost payment dispute inside the approval window declines or reduces that payment's reward. After approval nothing is taken back.
- Earned money is never taken away because you close your account or stop posting. It can be withheld only for confirmed fraud or a breach of the terms, with a reason and a way to appeal.
What we won't tell you
We don't tell anyone what they will earn. It depends on who watches you, what you make and which brands you pick, and anyone who promises a number is guessing. Your own numbers are on your dashboard from your first click; the lesson on reading your numbers shows what to do with them.
