Your link and your code are how a brand knows a customer came from you. Put them where people will use them, and use the right link for each place so you can see what works.
Your links
Make a link to any page of a brand you've joined from Links: the home page, the pricing page, the signup page or a feature page. A deep link to the page your content talks about beats the home page.
Each link has a short address, and each place you share it can have its own channel, so your numbers show which platform brought the clicks. The share texts we make for each channel already start with the label and carry the channel.
Where the link goes
- TikTok and Instagram: links in captions don't open, so put the link in your bio or on your link page, say “link in bio” in the video, and pin a comment pointing to it. On Instagram stories, use the link sticker.
- YouTube: in the first lines of the description, after the label, and in a pinned comment.
- X, Threads and LinkedIn: in the post itself.
- Newsletters and blogs: in the text, with the label before the first mention.
- Live, on stage or on print: the QR code from the link's page.
Codes
If a brand gives you a code, use it everywhere: say it out loud and show it on screen. A code beats a click, so a viewer who types the brand's address instead of clicking, or whose app opens links in its own browser, still counts for you.
Don'ts
- Don't post a brand's link where it doesn't allow it: coupon sites, cashback sites, or paid search ads on its name.
- Don't buy through your own link or code, and don't ask friends to click it to test. It looks like fraud to every system that checks, ours included.
- Don't hide where a link goes behind another short link: people should see they're going to the brand.
